Microgaming to Continue Sponsorship of Rally Isle of Man

Isle of Man-based gaming software provider, Microgaming, has announced its intention to sponsor the annual Rally Isle of Man. Taking place in September, 2014, this will be the third year running that Microgaming has been a headline sponsor for the four-wheel motor sport event that attracts participants from around the world.

Microgaming Support Significant to Event

The Rally Isle of Man has been organized in partnership with Druidale motor Club. Chairman of the event, John Gill, announced their delight that Microgaming will be sponsoring the event again this year and discussed the importance of the sponsorship from a large and reputable company such as Microgaming.

"It makes a great difference to the rally; not just financially though that is very important with top level UK rallying still struggling from the financial downturn, but also with the physical support Microgaming offers," said Gill. "This has enabled us to introduce the showpiece Douglas promenade stage amongst other elements that have proved such a hit with spectators and allow us to bring the event even closer to the public and broaden the appeal for all," he said of the Microgaming sponsorship of Rally Isle of Man.

The Rally Isle of Man event will return this year, its third year, to the marquee MSA British Rally Championship and Mintex MSA British Historic Rally Championship. It will also be a counter in the Clonakilty Blackpudding Irish Tarmac Historic Rally Championship and the Eurocars Motorsport Manx Rally Championship.

Rally Isle of Man Growing Each Year

Rally Isle of Man was first held in 1963, making it one of the longest standing events in the International Rally Calendar. Previously named the Manx International Rally, in 2002 it became part of the British Rally Championship and the Irish Tarmac Rally Championship. The event will be held this year over three days, from Thursday September 11 to Saturday, September 13, 2014.

The event has been growing each year and it has become one of the largest on-island sporting events to be held each year. Roger Raatgever, Chief Executive Officer of Microgaming announced the company's pride in choosing to be a major part of this event for the third consecutive year.

"And for Rally Isle of Man to return to the MSA British Rally Championship, what a brilliant achievement," said Raatgever. "Expect this year's event to be bigger and better than ever before – I for one can't wait!"
