Ten Years of Microgaming Lara Croft: Tomb Raider Slot

One of the hottest slot games found at Microgaming casinos is Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, and from the popularity of this title, it is hard to believe that it is actually ten years old!

This week, Microgaming celebrated a decade's worth of fun and rewards since the launch of the Lara Croft: Tomb Raider brand of games, which marked the beginning of many exciting new licensing deals between the group and other companies.

The deal signed between Microgaming and Eidos in 2004 was the very first branded slot partnership in the land of online gambling, paving the way for many more.

Since then, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider slot has been adapted to other platforms, as Microgaming pioneered its way in the world of multi-player and mobile software.

In 2006, Microgaming developed the Lara Croft: Tomb Raider slot in J2ME format for use on mobile devices. Thereafter, the game was rolled out in Web App, Android and HTML5 versions. This brought the slot to the palms of mobile gamblers across the board.

In 2008, following on the success of the original game, Microgaming rolled out Lara Croft: Secret of the Sword slot.

Instantly Recognizable Game

Lara Croft: Tomb Raider slot is clearly one of Microgaming's most popular games, and has become a legend in its own right.

The chief executive officer of Microgaming, Roger Raatgever said about the 10 year celebrations: "The Tomb Raider brand is instantly recognizable, so when we signed the licensing agreement back in 2004, we were incredibly excited."

"As the industry's first branded slot, we knew the game would be popular; it has now become a Microgaming classic!" he added.
