Microgaming Expands Office on Isle of Man

Online gambling company, Microgaming, is expanding through the construction of a new five storey building in Douglas, the Isle of Man.  Work has already begun on this new building, which will be located adjacent to the group's existing office. Local architects, Savage & Chadwick, will link to the two through a tower walkway.

The construction will also benefit the local community on the Isle of Man, as 90% of the workforce will be employed from within.

"We were adamant that this project should support local businesses; wherever possible, Manx workers are being utilised," said Roger Raatgever, the CEO of Microgaming.

"It’s a huge local project which is anticipated to take around two years to complete. We are doing everything we can to minimise disruption in the area and we’d like to thank everyone for their ongoing support whilst we build our future on the island."

The building should be completed by 2017.

Rapid Expansion of Microgaming

Microgaming has been at the frontier of solid online gambling since the inception of the industry in the mid-90's. The group has grown at an incredible rate, and the construction of the new building is the group's attempts to meet the demands of this rapid expansion.

"Since we set up our global head office on the Isle of Man in 2001, we have grown at an incredible rate," noted Raatgever. "We now have over 160 people in our building here on the island, and we expect this number to grow significantly over the next few years."

Highest Standards in Design

The director of the architectural company commissioned to design Microgaming's new building, Mark Savage, said that when designing the construction, it was important to create an office that was not only of the highest standards in design and quality, but to "illustrate who Microgaming is as a company and what it does."

He said that to complement Microgaming's "pioneering and innovative way of life," the office would be ultra-modern and use would be made of quality materials and with the highest attention to details.

Savage said called the design process "very enjoyable" and said that it would now materialise into a "state of the art building".
