Greatest Poker Player in the Universe Revealed

MPN, the Microgaming Poker Network, has announced the winner of the first Universal Championship of Poker. The network has announced that the Greatest Poker Player in the Universe has been revealed as Dmitrijs ‘PokahPPL’ Meless.

Latvian Player Crowned as Greatest Poker Player

On September 6th, the Universal Championship of Poker began. There were more than 12 events that took place in the tournament, and players from more than 100 different countries joined in. The winners split more than €240,000 in cash prizes.

The main attraction at the Universal Championship of Poker (UCOP) was the innovative Greatest Poker Player in the Universe leaderboard. Not only could players earn tournament points for their poker playing performance, points were also awarded for those who showed themselves to be good representatives of the game of poker.

Dmitrijs, the winner of the Greatest Poker Player in the Universe title took home a trophy and a prize of €10,000 in cash. The 33-year-old poker Latvian player has played the game for about 11 years, and has been a professional poker player for the last eight years. The Triobet player already has a following of more than 1,000. He streams his online poker games on Twitch while he comments on the hands that are played in both Russian and in English. Dmitrisjs plans to spend some of his winnings on a vacation in Spain with his wife and son.

From the beginning of the tournament, there was much hype surrounding the Greatest Poker Player in the Universe leaderboard. The leaderboard received a lot of social media activity, with players sharing their UCOP experiences via Twitter and other forms of social media. The tournament events were streamed live more than 200 times on Twitch to over 14,000 viewers.

But remember that the greatest players of today are not necessarily the greatest players tomorrow. UCOP will be back and bigger than ever, and Dmitrijs will have to defend his title if he wants to keep it!”

Top 10 Leaderboard Winners

Dmitrijs received the first prize, however, there were prizes for the top 10 players. €2,500 went to horstars in second place, and €1,000 to bsultanen in third place. The fourth to sixth place winners each won 3x Sunday Showdown Tickets, and the seventh and eighth placers each won 2x Sunday Showdown Tickets. The ninth and tenth place winners each one a single Sunday Showdown Ticket.
