Microgaming Poker Network Launches New Tournament

While the online gambling software provider, Microgaming is best known for its casino games and progressive jackpots, it shouldn't be forgotten that the group also runs a very successful online poker platform.

The Microgaming Poker Network is currently running its Universal Championship of Poker (UCOP), which kicked off this weekend.

Microgaming announced that it was seeking the 'Greatest Poker Player in the Universe' during the series, and would be rewarding players well with juicy prizes in a total of $225,000.

Players can join in the series and enjoy hot online poker action off a strong and stable platform.

"The Universal Championship of Poker is our take on the poker tournament series, with a wide variety of fun events with juicy prize pools," noted Microgaming Head of Poker Alex Scott. "Not only that, but in typically ambitious MPN style, we’re giving players the chance to become the ‘Greatest Poker Player in the Universe.’ Who wouldn’t want to have that trophy on their mantelpiece?"

$280 Buy In Main Event

The beauty of the Universal Championship of Poker (UCOP) by Microgaming is that it is affordable to all players to enter.

The UCOP features 12 events, the first of which kicked off on Sunday, September 6th.

A total of $225,000 in prize guarantees are up for grabs across the 12 events, culminating in a $280 buy in Main Event which is scheduled for September 13th.

Players can earn points for the UCOP leaderboard race through a number of ways - by cashing in multiple events, playing different types of tournaments, participating in the Omaha event or using social media to publicize UCOP. Tweeting about the tournament is also worth points.

The top ten players on the overall UCOP board will take home super prizes, with the leading player winning an extra $11,200 and the Greatest Poker player in the Universe trophy!
