Vote for Microgaming Charity Donation

This is the time of the year where the generous spirits flow, and Microgaming software group is inviting players to make their own contribution.

The group has decided to donate several thousands to a charity at the beginning of next year, and players will be able to decide which one of 12 organizations will be at the receiving end.

Microgaming's PlayItForward program has put together a list of charities and players are called to vote which of these will receive the #7,500 donation in early 2016.

Voting is in full swing and will continue until Christmas Eve, December 24th.

Players are invited to take a look at the list of 12 diverse charities and help make a decision.

Microgaming Charities in Africa

There are three potential charities on the African continent which could receive funding from Microgaming.  These are Save the Rhino which supports endangered rhinos and conserves existing populations; UNICEF, which works on protecting and educating children in Africa and other countries around the world; and Change Heroes which funds water projects and schools in Africa.

Giving in UK & Europe

Microgaming has earmarked several charities in the UK and Africa for its substantial donation.

These include: CLIC Sargent, the UK cancer charity, StreetGames which promotes doorstep sport in disadvantaged communities and Puttinu Cares, another cancer charity which works with the patient's family.

Microgaming Donates at Home

Based on the Isle of Man, Microgaming has established an excellent rapport with the island's inhabitants and regularly gives back to the community. Potential charities include: Isle of Man Women's Refuge which offers a safe haven for women and children who face violence at home; Wish Upon a Dream which makes wishes come true for sick children; and Service Users' Network (SUN), which provides support for those suffering with mental health issues.

Charities Around the World

Another three charities make the shortlist for Microgaming's donation, as follows:

  • Cure Cancer Australia - Dedicated to finding a cure for cancer.

  • Oxfam International - the global group which works in over 90 countries against poverty.

  • World Wildlife Fund (WWF) - the world's leading conservation group with 5 million members.
