Microgaming Makes Another Generous Donation

The online gambling giant, Microgaming continues to pay it forward by supporting the society of its host island, the Isle of Man. This time around, Microgaming made a donation to the Alzheimer’s Society Isle of Man during its successful Wellness Week last month.

Wellness Week started off with Microgaming inviting experts to its headquarters at MGS House to give talks to employees about health and general wellbeing. Staff enjoyed a fun week of educational challenges and received gifts such as infuser water bottles, special Pilates classes and more. Microgaming already runs a free on-site gym at its headquarters.

Microgaming Blood Drive

One special part of Wellness Week was the blood drive which saw 15% of employees make a donation at the mobile blood unit which visited Microgaming’s offices for the day. Microgaming donated £25 per donor to the Alzheimer’s Society, leading to a generous donation of £700 by the end of the day.

”Wellness Week sounds like a great initiative,” said the services manager of the Alzheimer’s Society, Isle of Man, Grahame Bell. “Well done to the 28 individuals that gave blood; it’s a service you never know when you’ll need. I’m most grateful to receive £700 from Microgaming on behalf of the charity.”

Microgaming Invests in Staff

The finance director for Microgaming, John Coleman said that while health and wellbeing are promoted all year round, Wellness Week was an important initiative for the company’s staff. He said it gave the group an opportunity to highlight simple but healthy workplace behaviors.

”Our staff are our greatest asset, so we want to ensure we look after them as well as possible,” he said. “Adding a charity angle this year through donating blood, gave our staff an opportunity to PlayItForward, and thanks to a generous group, we’re delighted to be giving the Alzheimer’s Society Isle of man a check for £700”.
