Microgaming Snaps Up Tarzan Brand

A lot of buzz was created this week with the exciting news that Microgaming has landed a fantastic new exclusive licensing contract.

The group inked a deal with Edgar Rich Burroughs (brokered by Creative Licensing Corporation), that will see Microgaming create slot games based on one of the most famous brands of all times, Tarzan.

There is probably no other character in the history of film that is more recognized by the audience than this jungle hero who was created by Burroughs in his 1912 novel, Tarzan of the Apes. Since 1918, a staggering 29 actors have played the part of Tarzan, the latest being Alexander Skarsgard in the 2016 movie the Legend of Tarzan.

Playing on the popularity of this brand, Microgaming snapped up the opportunity to bring Tarzan, Jane and other jungle friends to the reels and has promised a rollout on desktop and mobile platforms by the end of 2016.

Extensive Experience with Brands

Microgaming has extensive experience developing slots and other casino games based on popular brands. Its branded games such as Tomb Raider, Jurassic Park and others are among its most sought after titles at Microgaming casinos.

The President of Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc., James Sullos said: We could not be more pleased to license Tarzan and his friends to such a quality company as Microgaming. Their extensive experience in developing online slot games assures us they will build a game that will attract many fans and players to the game from around the globe.

Celebrating Tarzan Brand

The CEO of Microgaming, Roger Raatgever also commented on the new deal saying: Tarzan is recognised the world over, so were excited to be launching a slot hosted by this timeless character. Our highly talented games team relish working with a new brand, to build a game that celebrates and embraces it. Having seen the game in prototype, I can honestly say the online slot will not disappoint Tarzan fans; operators and their players can look forward to the games release this winter.
