Microgaming Plans Phantom of the Opera Slot
One of the most exciting announcements made by the casino software group, Microgaming recently, was the fact that it is planning to roll out a new Phantom of the Opera video slot game.
Phantom of the Opera is one of the most successful stage productions every created, seen by over 140 million people in 35 countries and 166 cities around the globe. As such, Microgaming is very excited that, thanks to a deal signed with the Really Useful Group, it will be bringing this brilliant brand to the reels of a new slot game.
According to Microgaming, the new Phantom of the Opera slot will be released in the third quarter of 2017. It will feature all the main musical numbers that made the show – and the subsequent 2004 movie - so famous. Songs such as The Phantom of the Opera and the Music of the Night will feature on the reels of the new slot, as will original footage from the movie starring Emmy Rossum and Gerard Butler.

“The Phantom of the Opera has had unequivocal success, played to over 140 million people worldwide!” said the games publisher at Microgaming, David Reynolds. “It’s exciting to be working with a musical, a new genre of branded content for Microgaming, extending and broadening our portfolio of games.”
“Due out in Q3, this game will be a true celebration of the world’s biggest opera, balancing a healthy mix of base game features with a feature-packed free spins round,” noted Reynolds.
New Slot Showcased at ICE
The idea of the Phantom of the Opera slot was introduced to the industry at the Microgaming Bar at the recent ICE Totally Gaming 2017 exhibit in London. Attendees were treated to spectacular drapes, original movie props and fancy chandeliers, and were totally immersed in the theme of Phantom of the Opera.
Having won over 70 major theater awards, Phantom of the Opera is now going into its 31st year, and Microgaming is excited to be part of continuing its legacy by exposing the brand to a wider audience.
