Microgaming Provides Sneak Peek of New Highlander Slot

Online gambling fans are still devouring Microgaming's new Phantom of the Opera slot, but already they are being teased with the software group's release for next month.

Microgaming has decided to keep its best release for last in 2017, and will roll out its new fantasy based slot game, Highlander in December.

Until then, the group has let players take a sneak peel of the new game that is based on the 1986 cult movie by the same name, starring Christopher Lambert.

The movie, as well as Microgaming's new slot, follows the adventures of the immortal Scottish swordsman. Russell Nash, who has to confront his final immortal enemy.

What We Know about Highlander Slot

As always, Microgaming has provided us with just enough information to tantalize us into wanting to know more, in its sneak peek of Highlander slot.

Just as in the movie, the scenes of the game switch from a typical New York skyline, to a Scottish Highland moor.

The 5 x 3 reels showcase the characters and symbols of Highlander, the movie, such as the ancient sword that holds such much importance in the story-line.

The 243 ways to win slot boasts several great bonus features such as Quickening Wilds where the number of wild symbols grow after each strike of lightening.

Cult Movie of the 1980s

It was only last month that Microgaming announced its intention to release Highlander slot, following an agreement with StudioCanal, facilitated by Creative Licensing Corporation.

At the time, Microgaming's David Reynolds said about the deal: "Highlander is seen as one of the great cult hits of the 80s. With its action-packed storyline and hefty rock inspired composition, it is a fantastic brand for an online slot. The game studio is busy completing the slot that captures all of the movie magic."

"The game's features will incorporate the historical Scottish Highlands and gritty New York City, with a classic movie poster art style and blistering guitar tracks," he added.
