Microgaming Launching PlayItForward Brand for Corporate Social Responsibility

Microgaming is one of the oldest and most established online gaming software providers in the world, having established the first real online casino in the year 1994. As a well-established software provider, Microgaming also takes its social responsibilities seriously. It has won various awards over the years, including The Baker Tilly Isle of Man Award for Corporate Social Responsibility in 2012. According to Microgaming's CEO, Roger Raatgever, the company has been supporting the local Isle of Man community for a decade, but in a quiet and subtle way..

Microgaming Launches PlayItForward

Now, Microgaming has announced a new identity for its extensive corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. All of Microgaming's wide-ranging activities, from health to sports sponsoring, will now be known as Microgaming PlayItForward. The new name is a way for the software provider to combine all of its good works under one umbrella. Microgaming PlayItForward encompasses all aspects of the company's social efforts. These efforts are all local, looking to improving the way of life for the island's residents.

In the sports arena, Microgaming PlayItForward sponsors local sporting events, provides marketing and PR and even volunteers to help out on the day. From swimming, to badminton, basketball or bowling, and many more sports, Microgaming is a major player in making sure sporting events run smoothly on the Isle of Man.

On the education front, the program offers bursaries for outstanding students, in partnership with the island's Department of Education and Children. Microgaming gives to charities working against cancer, by sponsoring events. They also sponsor community events and have a Microgaming Ambassador program.

Microgaming Health and Care Trust will also come under the new Microgaming PlayItForward umbrella, but will stay independent. This trust provides support to charities and local health and social care projects, and has been running since 2002. In the last 12 years they have contributed over #800,000, with over 90 local donations made.

Microgaming to Become More Visible in the Community

Raatgever believes that by becoming more visible to the community, Microgaming's community service initiatives will be able to increase as well. Services will be able to be directed exactly where they are needed the most. He also mentions that Microgaming PlayItForward may extend their services beyond the Isle of Man to further afield, whilst always cherishing the special relationship the company has with the island and its inhabitants.

This is very exciting news for the people of the Isle of Man, and for a great online gaming software provider.
