Microgaming to Sponsor Awards for Excellence

Last year, the online casino software group, Microgaming, won first place in the the prestigious Corporate Social Responsibility category at the Isle of Man Newspapers' Awards for Excellence. In addition, Microgaming also won the same title in 2012.

As such, it seemed appropriate that this year the group would serve as a sponsor for the category - and everyone agrees that Microgaming makes an excellent sponsor for excellence!

Microgaming's PlayItForward Expands

Microgaming has been involved closely with the community on the Isle of Man, where it has its headquarters, for many years, and its PlayItForward initiative continues to grow and expand.

The head of Microgaming's PlayitForward, Claire Coleman said: "We have been involved with the Awards for Excellence for a number of years now. Winning, and sponsoring, the award for Corporate Social Responsibility demonstrates the importance of CSR to us. We are looking forward to passing it on this year to another company that also invests in the local community and gives something back that is very exciting for us."

"The Isle of Man is a very generous island and there are a lot of companies over here that do an awful lot," added Coleman. "But they dont always realize just how much they have been doing until they sit down and actually fill out the entry submission and analyze it all."

"We congratulate all of the shortlisted companies in this category, and wish them the best of luck on the night."

What Microgaming Does for Community

Microgaming itself does many good things for the Isle of Man community in a number of core areas.

These include:

Health: Through the Microgaming Health and Care trust, established in 2002, the group has donated over #800K so far to registered charities, health and social projects on the island.  The group purchases medical equipment and contributes to cancer support.

Sport: Microgaming established the island's first Powerchair Football Club. It has an on-site gym at its head-offices where employees are encouraged to take part in professional training sessions.

Education: Microgaming offers bursaries to Isle of Man students, and is helping seven students attend university this year.
