Microgaming Spreads Charity Christmas Cheer

Microgaming online casino software group continues to spread the Christmas cheer this season.  The group announced that it has made a sizeable donation to the Isle of Man based charity, Manx Carriage Driving 4 Disabled through the Microgaming Health and Care Trust.

This registered charity is part of the Riding for the Disabled Association which enables riding activities for disabled people around the United Kingdom. The Isle of Man registered charity was offered the donation of #6,000 by Microgaming to purchase a carriage which is specially designed for wheelchair users. 

Around 30 adults and 15 children are able to benefit from the Driving 4 Disabled activities, and the numbers are expected to grow thanks to Microgaming's generosity. The charity hopes that membership will grow to 150 by 2017.

A volunteer fundraiser for Manx Carriage Driving 4 Disabled, Martin Sewell said about the new donation:

"The number of people wanting to participate in carriage driving is growing, and were thrilled. But it has quickly become apparent that we needed a second modified carriage, which is wheelchair accessible, in order to meet the demand".

"Im so thankful to the Microgaming Health & Care Trust for stepping in and supporting our programme this donation will enable more disabled Manx residents to enjoy the pleasures and challenges of carriage driving, gain confidence and make new friends," he added.

Also singing the praise of this worthy charity was the trustee of the Microgaming Health & Care Trust, Paul Novellie who said: "Manx Carriage Driving 4 Disabled is a worthy charity that provides a unique service to the local community. Their volunteer team work incredibly hard to ensure all children and adults have an opportunity to drive a carriage."

"To support the organization with the purchase of a second specialist carriage was a pleasure," he said. "We know this will make a real difference to the services they provide and it has been so rewarding to see the carriage in action."

Established in 2002, the Microgaming Health & Trust Care aims to provide financial support for local hospitals, and assist Manx-registered charities, health and social care projects across the island.
